A girl holding a camera in front of a short wall with the ocean and Bonifacio, Corse, France behind her

Welcome to my bio; a short story of a short girl (5’2″) and how and why I decided to become a photographer and travel blogger.

My name is Michelle and I live in Arvada, Colorado. As a kid growing up in South Dakota, I loved taking pictures with any camera my parents had lying around whether it was a polaroid or a little 110 instamatic. Unfortunately film and developing were costly back then and I didn’t really get to start developing my skills until adulthood. Now I can’t get enough! I love photographing everything from bugs, to animals, flowers, landscapes, and people.

A bio without a snippet of your love life just isn’t a bio now is it? Well, at 21 I met a guitar player in a traveling band and at 24 we were married. Three years later I decided to take up bass playing so we could start a band of our own which is what we’ve been doing for a living ever since. I think I’m a pretty good testament to “it’s never too late to start something new”, right?

Our current projects are called Boogie Machine, a 70’s Disco tribute act, and, Ronnie Raygun & the Big Eighties, an 80’s retro tribute act. We call them acts as opposed to bands because it’s more than just standing up there playing music. Check out our sites and you’ll see what I mean.

While “on the road” in the nineties, we did a lot of traveling through most of the western U.S., including Alaska, as well as Bermuda, and three, three-month tours in South Korea, before settling down here in Colorado where we’ve been since 1998. Luckily being in the entertainment business lent itself to plenty of travel… some places were  great and some not so much! LOL!

As you may have experienced for yourself, when you travel a lot and then stop for a while, the “wanderlust” creeps in and makes you want to pack your bags and just go! And that is what we intend on doing as much as possible. We have quite a few bucket list items of places we want to go and things we want to do so stay tuned; I’ll be blogging about past travels, current travels, and great places to eat and drink along the way with plenty of photos and videos to help inspire your next journey.
