Artisanal Food & Drink
Colorado’s makers are crafting incredible small-batch flavors, from infused honeys and specialty coffees to other handcrafted edibles. Many don’t have traditional storefronts, but you can order online, catch them at farmers markets, festivals, or local events. Here are our favorite artisanal finds that are worth tracking down — each one supporting independent creators and delivering the true taste of the Rockies.
Steamboat Honey Company
While exploring the Breckenridge Farmers Market, we had the pleasure of meeting Bethany Karulak, the friendly beekeeper and founder of Steamboat Honey Company. Her passion is infectious, and we couldn’t leave without three jars of her small-batch, raw Colorado honey. Standouts include the juicy Palisade Peach, sweet Triple Crown Blackberry, and the boldly spicy Salted Ghost Pepper. Handcrafted with real ingredients in Steamboat Springs, these infusions are perfect for drizzling over cheese boards, toast, or adding a wild kick to your favorite dishes. A true local gem that supports the bees and tastes like the Rockies in every spoonful. Highly recommended!

SmokeNBrew Coffee Roasters
One of our favorite discoveries in Colorado is Smoke~N~Brew Coffee Roasters, a veteran-owned small-batch roastery based in Firestone. They use a unique smoke-roasting process with woods like cherry, hickory, and maple to create incredibly smooth, bold, and flavorful coffees with subtle smoky notes. From single-origin beans to their signature blends, every bag is roasted fresh and packed with rich character. Whether you’re brewing at home or looking for a standout souvenir from your mountain trip, these coffees deliver a memorable cup. Highly recommended for coffee lovers seeking something beyond the ordinary!
